To: [email protected] Date: Tuesday, 3 August, 2010, 9:55 AM Isaac & Peter, Nice to see both giants fighting over my photo. ;-) To make it easier for you to ID I thought I'll post one more shot of the same butterfly. Unfortunately that day I was with 70-200 lens which lacked macro. This was the minimum I could get the shot. Hope this will help in identification. With warm regards, Krishna Mohan Dear Peter, Thanks for your opinion on the image of Celaenorrhinus sp. I have a photo of Tamil Spotted Flat that fits Evan's description as mentioned by you on the Flickr (link given below). Also please check James Y Young 's photograph of C. putra in this link: http://www.hkls. org/fieldtr/ ChiangMai06/ ChiangMai06. htm And the most important question - Does C. putra occurs in South India ??? (S. India to Bengal); ruficornis ruficornis Mabille from Java is "uniform. Upf 2 spots or conjoined dashes on costa, above and separate from cell spot; usually spots in 4,5. I still think Krishna's specimen is somewhere nearer C. putra.
