Sure, send an uncropped, high-quality copy that you have resized to 1500 to
2000 pixels wide. That will substantially reduce the file size without losing
on the area that we want to crop.

BTW, the butterfly is supposed to be common in its habitat and in the right
season, but I haven’t seen any other pictures lately.

Subject: Re: Your Barred Woodbrown

Thank you for the identification of what I gather is a not oft-seen butterfly.
Am very thrilled.
I will soon send you a picture of the butterfly but the original file is 6.8 MB
- too heavy to be sent. Can I pare it down a little ?

Hi Soma,

A few days ago you had posted a picture of Lethe on ButterflyIndia, which is
attached here. I have identified it as Lethe maitrya – the Barred Woodbrown. We
do not have a species page and any reference pictures for this butterfly on the
website, so we will be glad if you contribute your picture to the website. If
you want to do so, we will need the original file from you, which we will crop
according to our requirements. You had already mentioned the locality, which is
embedded in the file name. Please let us know if there are any corrections
there.

Gaurav, the subspecies names for this picture will be:

Lethe maitrya maitrya – Himalayan Barred Woodbrown.

With best wishes,

Krushnamegh.
