Vijay, Sanjay and others: My money is on Harisa Orange Awlet (Burara harisa):
http://ifoundbutterflies.org/275-burara/burara-harisa although you really need to see the UP to separate it from Branded Orange Awlet (Burara oedipodea): http://ifoundbutterflies.org/275-burara/burara-oedipodea Sanjay mentioned Orange Awlet (Burara jaina): http://ifoundbutterflies.org/3-lepidoptera/burara-jaina-dp2 which looks quite different in the NE (see Rohan’s ag441 on the above page). Sanjay, did you mean to compare oedipodea with harisa, or really with jaina? oedipodea and harisa are very similar to each other, not jaina. Sanjay has already described brands of oedipodea and jaina in his email. The UP and brand of harisa can be seen on the above species page. BTW, Sanjay, vasundhara is a synonym of the nominotypical subspecies. See Evans’s 1949 Hesperiidae Catalogue. With best wishes, Krushnamegh. ------------------------------------------------- Krushnamegh Kunte, PhD Post-doctoral Research Fellow FAS Center for Systems Biology Harvard University 52 Oxford St., Northwest Lab Room 458.40-3 Cambridge, MA 02138, USA.
