Subject: [ButterflyIndia] Pic of the 2011

Two Trips to the Namdapha National Park and one visit to Garo Hills I had lots
of photos to choose from!
It was indeed very difficult task to select only three images from hundreds
that includes elusive Jewelled
Nawab, Bifid Plushblue, Pointed Palmfly, Brown Gorgon, Crenulate Mottle and
many more.

After lot of thinking choosing three of my favourites for the year 2011.

1. Constable:
  date 01/05/2011
This for me my favourite moment of the Namdapha Trip in May 2011. I clicked
this image so early in the morning.
I was just coming out from sleep at Deban Rest House,  Suddenly this Consatble
came on wet patch near Deban Rest House.
I was stunned to see this one so early in morning. I was dying to see this one
since April 2008 when I saw this for the
first time in Garo Hills with Krushnamegh. That time i didnt have Micro lens so
didnt manage good shot. But my dream came
true on that early morning in Namdapha!

2. Bifid Plushblue
  date 24/04/2011
This was so special only because of people who were associated with this
pic. I am not diclosing entire story but this
was indeed very special moment from Garo Hills in April. Only thing I want to
say about this one is that I skipped Koh-i-noor
for this picture. :)

3. Brown Gorgon
  date 01/05/2011
I was watching this beauty for five days in Namdapha. On first day of my
trip I saw both Yellow and Brown Gorgons on
Miao-Vijaynagar Road. And i was furious with myself not getting chance to get
the pic of them. After that I was after them
like man possesed. After two days I got one okay kind of shot of Brown Gorgon
while it was mudpuddling. But I was not happy
at all with the background of the pic. So I wanted one more pic of this beauty.
My wait was finally over on 1st May. It was
cloudy day and I was on my way back from 19th Mile to deban. I was running in
hurry to reach Deban as rain was jsut around
15-20mins away from me. I was worried about my camera equipment. I was running
race against time. Suddenly one Brown gorgon
flew from side of the road.I thought chance is gone but it came back and was
searching for muddpuddling spot. After few mins
rain drops started to fall. Suddenly butterfly flew away and sat on leaf. I
couldnt believe eyes. the one I was searching for
last 5 days was sitting on leave. All the stupid things such as rain ran away
from my mind as I was clicking pics. After around
50+ clicks I realised rain is becoming heavier! But I got my reward on the last
day in the field!
