Dear Friends,

Thanks you very much for the responses. First clarification is I have not
taken anything personally but am looking at ways and means to make this a
better community for all of us. And the comment set me thinking what more
can be done to improve user experience and more scientific contribution.

Some points came to my mind:

- There are certain disadvantages in continued use of yahoo groups over
newer social networks in terms of ease of use, quickness of responses etc.
So how can we minimize that is the challenge. And we have some strategy for
that.

- There are some strengths of yahoo groups like 10 year
archives, searchable, you can quickly start reading the emails you have not
seen after few days of break, emails sit in mailbox anyway, you can use
message filing by subject line to check all the replies for your email,
people are bit serious about the communication etc.

- One important point seems to be quick turnout, we (moderators) would work
on that so there are no delays at that end, members need to reply often and
quickly to improve it at other end. Very important point Milind ji.

- Message group by topic feature in most email program helps one to read
all the replies together, may be we need to teach users how to use that.

Will add some more later, and keep your comments and suggestions coming.
And special thanks Milind ji for indirectly sparking this very "healthy"
discussion.

Regards,

Vijay
