Subject: [ButterflyIndia] Pics of the year 2011

I have already sent pics for the year 2011. But still has few that are close
to my heart! So sending them also.

Small Green Awlet

This gem was found after very bad day in the field in the Namdapha. i
photographed Common Gull for few hours thinking that it was Green Veined
White! All our dreams of getting some thing interesting in Namdapha were
already vanished! While coming back to Deban from Haldibari, we crossed the
Noa Dihing river by boat and while we were walking on the stony riverbed of
Noa Dihing this beautifull butterfly came and settled in front of us.
Suddenly my heart was running like USEN BOLT! Such a majestic butterfly this
was!

White Dragontail

This for me the picture I was dreaming for a long time. when i was with
Krushnamegh in 2008 he showed me White Dragontail for the first time. I was
big fan of this small butterfly since then. But even after 5  trips till
November 2011 I was unable to get good pic of this. But finally i got this
one in Namdapha this time. Thanks to Paresh Kale and Hemant Ogale who gave
me best side to shoot this one.

Great Nawab and Jewelled Nawab

Photographically this one is of very low quality! But the two butterflies
involved in the pic makes for the quality! This was taken in Garo Hills when
no one was ready to shoot Jewelled Nawab as we have already clicked hundreds
of pics of it on second day of he trip. So Jewelled Nawab bring Great Nawab
for company!
