Hi Kedar,

You don't look too much of a beginner where butterfly photography goes.

Cheers and welcome.

Subject: [ButterflyIndia] Photos of the year 2011

Dear all,

I am really a beginner when it comes to knowing about and photographing
butterflies. Though I have been around on WildflowersIndia for a long time, I
have recently joined ButterflyIndia. Nevertheless, here are my two photos of
the year, though these are very common species and nowhere close to some of the
rare ans spectacular posts.

1. Small branded swift (Pelopidas mathias); Sep 2011; Pune

This tiny butterfly I chanced upon on my terrace garden in Pune. Usually
difficut to click coz they move very fast,
this chap sat very still allowing me a good macro. The original photo is much
better, here the quality is somewhat comrpomised due to resizing.

2. Common Gull (Cepora nerissa); Dec 2011; Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan

There were several of these dainty butterflies flitting on a bed of calendulas
outside the RTDC resort at Sariska.
The morning light was just perfect to capture this flitter in my camera.

Enjoy,
