Here is my second choice of photographs.

Common Windmill:

This was (obviously) a lifer for me. The trip to Manas was threatening to turn
out to be a damp squib till a few fascinating butterflies turned up to light up
the days. Because of the jeep travel and in anticipation of mammals, the camera
was loaded with a tele-lens. But a quick of change of lens and permission to
get off the vehicle meant a close-up of this beauty. God bless them.

Gre:at Orange-tip

This is a lifer for me as far as a photograph in the open by me is concerned.
Having photographed a few other specimen in various states of openness, I had
lowered the camera to look for the results, when this came and sat on a flower
right in front of me- its wings full open. Beginner's luck!

Plain Tiger:

The inclusion of this photo is thanks to Nelson.  I too have been trying to
make the available butterflies try to look their best. Still waiting to see if
I succeed. But can't complain about the models, like this one. The early
morning situation meant that I  the model waited while I could set myself up.

cheers
