Aparna, you have already taken the lead, so why don¹t you go ahead and put
together a list of us in BLR? If we are going to do this on a regular basis,
I would suggest that we identify two or three good spots to watch
butterflies in and around BLR and start counting butterflies there twice a
month. That will be a very important dataset in the long term from which we
will learn a lot. Watching butterflies together on its own is good, but
systematic population-level data collection will go a much longer way. I am
willing to do this on GKVK campus, so people from that part of town can join
me if they wish. Rohit Girotra goes to the reserve forest near house on a
regular basis, maybe a team from that part of town can start working there.
Perhaps the various local teams could meet once in a while to exchange notes
on species identification, compile data and chat about butterflies.

With best regards,

Krushnamegh.

Hi,

A while ago there was a discussion on the group to start outings in
different regions. Can we start this again? A lot of new comers like me can
learn a lot through such outings and interactions. I live in bangalore and I
see that quite a few of us from around here. Can we start 2 outings per
month basis? I am willing to co-ordinate the arrangements.
