I'm in with whomever suggested the Icom - 2820H.  Yes it's dual band and can do
both bands at once, however you can set both monitoring frequencies to 2m and
run with it.  Not that difficult to program by hand (I do it quite often on the
fly....sometimes during the 150, but don't tell Mike that).  Has the separation
kit, and if one day you desire to run APRS or DSTAR it's capable all you need
is an addition.

Perhaps saying that the manual could use some improvements is an
understatement!    True, I doubt if I would want it for a motorcycle… but in
the Prius, it has been just fine. I did not use any software or other external
methods to program it. It was ‘entertaining” to set up various functions. BTW:
The time-out timer defaults to 30 seconds. That was the first thing I changed.
Fun cheap throw-down rig. I would get another, and most of the eham reviews
on it really aren’t that harse. Overall it got 3.2/5.    Andy C6ACM    Andrew

Subject: [BVARC] Recommendation Needed -- 2 Meter Mobile   Is there a 2 Meter
FM (ONLY)  Mobile radiowith front panel separation?   I don’t need the other
bands or modes, just 2 Meters - FM, but mounting the head only would be great.
 Any recommendations welcome.   Thanks…Rick – W5RH
