When you go to the Greater Houston Hamfest, be aware that the TX Hwy 36 exit
off of US59/I69 IS NOT MARKED as such! If you miss it, you have to go about 4
or 5 miles before you can pull a U-Turn.So . . . After you cross the Brazos
River, you go about 4 miles, passing 3 exits, and you will then pass the exit
to 762, then you will pass Reading Road and then another 1 or 2 miles you will
pass FM 2218 All of these are only marked with small temporary signs.
Immediately after you pass the 2218 exit, you will go over an overpass. When
you come down, the exit is up ahead maybe 1/4 mile. It is only marked with a
small sign that says EXIT. There is no highway number and there are no signs
ahead of that telling you that the TX36 exit coming up. The exit is one of
those where they moved about 2 or 3 of the concrete barriers and threw some
asphalt down to the feeder road. There is no exit lane, nor any running lanes.
Hwy 36 will then be up about another mile. Turn left onto 36 and go what is
possibly 1/2 mile to a flashing light. Turn right into the entrance to the
Fairgrounds.
