Hello Mr. Runner, I sent you a message on Facebook via the BVARC page, but am not sure if you check messages there. My name is Nell Lukosavich and I live here in Houston. I am writing you regarding my dear friend, mentor, and neighbor Charlie Prochaska, who recently passed away on June 29. Charlie was a lifetime member of BVARC (KG5KV, previous call sign: KB5EQJ, Licensee ID: L00159491) and was a passionate Ham radio operator for over 50 years. His Ham radio community was near and dear to him. Charlie accomplished so many extraordinary things throughout his life through his beloved Ham network, including volunteering his Ham radio skills at MD Anderson, Ronald McDonald House Houston, and with the Boy Scouts of America. Additionally, Charlie connected the remote island of Pitcairn with Ham radio equipment and emergency service technology, saving the lives of many islanders, who he remained friends with until his passing. In addition to letting your group know of his passing, I wanted to find out if there is a way to honor Charlie with a final sign off on his call sign, and share a Silent Key with his family. I know it would mean a lot. Thank you, Nell Lukosavich
