Mike, Any of us volunteering our time should not be required to buy entrance to Hamfest. I planned to do VE testing Saturday. Now I hear I have to also pay to walk the tables after driving all the way out there to volunteer our time? Thats messed up Buddy. And you know it is. And my complaint applies to ANY operators volunteering their time. Needing volunteers for two critical areas. 1. Table Set-up and Tear-down A scheduling conflict has recently arisen with the group whoset up the tables and the podium at the Greater Houston HamFest. Three to four people are needed to do thiswith it taking 2 to 3 hours for setup and about 2 hours to teardown. The critical time is the setup. You are not necessarily being asked to helpwith both setup and teardown. Setup tentatively will take place between about 10 and 1 onthis coming Thursday, February 29 (the day before the actual Hamfest starts). These 3 hours can be varied if tooinconvenient. Someone will be there mostof the day tending to this and other pre-hamfest work; In addition to the 2 – 3hours for table setup, we need other volunteers for an hour or two at any timethroughout that day (Thursday). Teardownstarts immediately after the Hamfest ends at 3PM, Saturday, March 2. If you can help, please contact Mike Hardwick,N5VCX at n5...@att.net or at 713-826-6917. 2. Loading and Unloading To help both vendors and support for the hamfest, volunteersare needed to help load and unload vehicles. Some of the areas needed aresupport for Robert Polinski with the PA system, HRO unloading their truck, HAMWEARSunloading their vehicle and several other vendors. The time on this starts onThursday at 9 am and continues off and on throughout the hamfest. If you can spare 15 to 30 minutes Thursday, Friday or Saturdayin the morning or afternoon, it will really be beneficial. If you can help, pleasecontact Mike Hardwick, N5VCX at n5vcx@att.netor at 713-826-6917. ________________________________________________ Brazos Valley Amateur Radio Club BVARC mailing list BVARC@bvarc.org http://mail.bvarc.org/mailman/listinfo/bvarc_bvarc.org Publicly available archives are available here: https://www.mail-archive.com/bvarc@bvarc.org/
