There are options on the listserver (what we refer to as the reflector) for how you want to receive your emails. You may select individual messages or a digest that bundles messages together.
There's a setting for MIME vs. Plain Text formats, and that may play into dropping pictures and attachments. You can access your listserver settings using the link I quote below, which is on every message you receive. It requires a login.
