IIRC, there are about four different disk diagnostics on the CD.   
Which diagnostic did you use?  How long did it take?

If it is bad, toss it.  Not worth the effort.  Came across a few bad  
ones (not just Fireballs) while cloning drives.  I just marked them  
as bad and moved on.

I've only been able to sort modems into ISA and PCI, about a half- 
dozen of each.  Nothing beyond that.
