Yeah, I read that page a few weeks ago, and tried to create a package.
 However, I got tons of meaningless errors.  Many of the errors that I
had were due to fields like "depends on", etc, which I don't even need.

Do you think "Conrad" would be able to help?

I will try again before next Saturday.  I want a simple, crude deb
package, and we can get fancy later.   I want to create a *deb package
that works first, then we can tackle stuff like being able to change
the  installation directory manually when installing.

I'll just download some example .deb packages, then play around with
those.  I'll bring the results in on Saturday.
