Many Thanks to all the instructors who made the adult earn-a-computer classes successful. Thanks also, to Michelle Meekie and Nate Neff who did all the setup work in recruiting students and to Darren Ling who built up the computers. We had an astounding 6 out of 7 students successfully graduate. The single non-graduate was in service in the Army, and could not attend after three classes -- we need to hold a seat for him in future classes.
I am convinced that our success was due to the almost 1 on 1 instructing we did for the students -- nobody fell behind, and we covered a lot of territory in each class. If anyone has any suggestions for topics for future adult classes, please forward them to me. For now, adult EAC classes have to be held up until we get more licenses from Microsoft. I am hoping for this to happen by mid January, but I have been over-optimistic before. If we do not get authorized for Microsoft licenses, we might consider XP training with open office.
