Getting a node's index (position)

Hi all,   Is there any method of finding a node’s index, representing its position in his parent’s childnodes? I can’t find any…   I’m currently implementing a loop iterating through all its siblings in order to find a node’s index. Am I missing something?...   Thank you   Nicolas
