Thanks Debasish- I've decided my initial efforts should go into improving my C++ knowledge first, by rewriting the non-GUI C logging program in C++. Then I'll go back to choosing a GUI package when: - I have a better idea of what I want/need to do - I can understand the documentation :-) John
