I suggest downloading Visual Studio 2005 Professional Edition Trial
(free) and start doing a few simple samples (a few lines). Don't expect
much, just play around and get familiar with what is where. Goto the
library and get a few "Beginning programming for dummies" type books. If
you do not understand a concept, goto the internet and wikipedia.org
for explanations. The main thing is to understand logic decisions,
loops, and input/output commands. Expect frustration and hours of things
not working. If you still find programming interesting, take a community
college course. from then on work your way up till you are programming
what you want.
