Did you read my post? Did you read Paul Herring's?
Did you follow the links to the C FAQ and the Goldberg paper?

It isn't possible for a floating point type to represent 1.1
precisely unless FLT_RADIX is a multiple of 10. It _is_
possible that double and float have the same representation
(i.e. are equivalent types in terms of range and precision)
on some machines.

The output you quote may be true of your machine, it needn't
be for everyone else.
