MUD = Multi-User Dungeon http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MUD Graphical versions are better known as the MMORPG. [NetHack] You are in a dungeon corridor, have no clothes on except for a pair of -10 Moth Eaten Used Underwear (stolen from a deceased cursed skeleton for some level of dignity), your inventory is empty, you lost all your equipment (stolen) and abilities (Status effect: Amnesia), and three hungry Ogres have appeared. What do you do? A) Ask them which one is hungrier. B) Fight! C) Attempt to run away. D) Scream like a little girl. E) Cast magic missile. (Actually, I've never played NetHack but have seen several comics involving the game and have enough RPG experience to conjure up such a silly scenario. I envision I would pick one of those ridiculous options in the nonexistent hope that I might accidentally survive. Supposedly NetHack is the ultimate single-player, text-based dungeon experience. It is open source and there are GUI frontends for it, so it might be worth checking that source code out.) -- Thomas Hruska CubicleSoft President Ph: 517-803-4197 *NEW* MyTaskFocus 1.1 Get on task.
