At work, a native and a cross compiling version of gcc. At home, gcc
and Visual C++ 2008 express.

As pointed out by Thomas, C# is not even close to C or C++.

VC++2008 express is probably your best bet.

don't have it already. It's part of the same suite as Visual C# 2008
Express.

If it truly is C# you want to learn, a good start would be a group
that deals with it. This is not such a group. I've never used C# so
can't recommend any.
