I can not help you fix this problem as I'm also a freshman in xerces, I was
much more familar with JAVA, however, I'm working as a SE now, not a student
anymore:)

A stupid solution:
   do not delete some node, instead, you select the nodes to be written to
construct a new xml document tree.
