Thanks a lot Fabian for this valuable piece of information. I already kind of burnt my fingers trying to cross-compile ICU. I am sure I can get it to work but I am just using Xerces for some basic XML parsing and stuff .I really don't need the ICU support in it.
Hats off for the whole community for all the valuable support that is extended to the developers. On most embedded linux boards, the locales are not installed, so iconv cannot discover which transcoder to load. Xerces handles a few encoding by itself including UTF-8, so it won't load an external transcoder. > Has anyone successfully cross-compiled ICU for the purpose of building Xerces > with ICU to avoid dependency to native encoder. I have also built ICU succesfully built for ARM, though, not for the purpose of using it for xerces. What issues are you running into? Fabian
