I have tasted this issue by installing your module also inherit the other
object,
I also tried to change the sort order too which worked as expected in latest
trunk.
So, I am changing the status to invalid. Please reopen if you still have the
problem.

_order ca not be overwritten in inherited class

Bug description:
We try to modify the sort order as
_order = 'name desc'
is not appropriate
Examples
* restart numbering every year
* change padding to accomodate for more recources
* using different prefixes.
the module loads but the new sort order is not used
