Thanks very much for this. Do you think you could create a JIRA issue and attach your patch to it? (http://issues.apache.org/jira). Also, I think it would be good to base your implementation on the JBoss3x implementation that already exists. I'm sure you can reuse at least 80% of the existing code. FYI, I have also started a project called Cargo (http://cargo.codehaus.org <http://cargo.codehaus.org/> ) which is a refactoring of Cactus to extract all the container manipulation code from Cactus. I'm now planning to refactor Cactus in the coming 2-3 weeks to use it.
