Title: RE: [cadaver] Subscribe

As I understand it, WebDAV defines a SUBSCRIBE method in which you can pass a callback endpoint URL  which will be called when things happen to the WEBDAV repository, such as the modification of a file etc.

My suggestion was that there could be a mode of running Cadaver in which it calls the subscribe method registering itself as the callback endpoint, then sits as a daemon listening to events from the WebDAV repository, and when events arrive, runs an OS command or batch file, as defined on the command line or in a conf file. Because SUBSCRIBE is the subject of a timeout, the daemon would have to renew itself with the repository from time to time.

Why I'm interested in this is because I would like to execute a virus scan on each file being deposited in the WebDAV repository,

Does this make sense?

I don't understand your question.  What does it mean to 'subscribe' to
webdav repository?  Are you assuming there's some sort of RSS feed or
something?
