Hi, thanks for the hint !
I tried <propval name='hostname' type='astring' value='xyz' /> But a different static hostname is not what I want a good value for this property (imho) would be 'take_from_dhcp' My postprocessing starts after the first reboot, at that time the machine comes up with a no-sense hostname (opensolaris or whatever). After the individual postprocessing is done, I like to have static hostnames which is another problem with nwams (?) kind regards christoph On Fri, 6 Nov 2009, Jan Damborsky wrote: > Hi Christoph, > > it seems you are hitting bug 5556: > AI must provide way to switch of populating hostname from DHCP server > > As a workaround, you could specify desired hostname in SC manifest: > > http://dlc.sun.com/osol/docs/content/dev/AIinstall/customsc.html > > And change the configuration on installed system as described in > > http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=5556#c0 > > Best regards, > Jan > > > christoph.beyer at desy.de wrote: > > Hi, > > > > this is probably a heritage from the live cd, after the packet > > installation the hostname of the install client is 'opensolaris' though > > the correct hostname has been submitted via dhcp at the beginning of the > > installation.
