Hi Jan:

I've followed your instruction to modify the GRUB menu. It went to the 
"Configure Keyboard Layout" screen. After chose a keyboard layout, it 
goes to the login screen.

But when using the 20081103 image with default manifest,   it hangs 
after inputing user name and password in login screen, only showed a 
black background and the pointer.

You can see the installation log here:
