Hi Jan: I've followed your instruction to modify the GRUB menu. It went to the "Configure Keyboard Layout" screen. After chose a keyboard layout, it goes to the login screen.
But when using the 20081103 image with default manifest, it hangs after inputing user name and password in login screen, only showed a black background and the pointer. You can see the installation log here: /net/rainday.prc/export/ai/results/101a/logs/tc_default Regards Li Fan jan damborsky wrote: > Hi Jeffrey, > > > jeffrey huang wrote: > >> Hi, Ginnie, >> >> I also AI-installed image 20081031, using default manifest. >> >> My U20 can successfully installed and reboot. >> >> On my Lenovo T61 with Windows dual boot, AI installation is fine, but >> OpenSolaris can not boot, >> it hangs at the first screen which has a progress bar there, not sure >> anyone have met the same issue on OpenSolaris or RC1? >> > > Could you please try without "happy face" (that progress bar) > in order to see, why/where the machine is hanging ? > > When in GRUB, press 'e' and using 'd' remove following lines from > GRUB menu: > > splashimage /boot/solaris.xpm > foreground d25f00 > background 115d93 > > Also remove ",console=graphics" from kernel$ line. > > Optionally, you might add "-kvd" to the kernel$ line > in order to enable kmdb and obtain more information - > if it turns out, it is not quite obvious, why machine > hung. > > Then press 'b' in order to boot - progress bar shouldn't be there > and you could observe what's going on. > > Also, could you please attach "install_log" file ? > > Thank you, > Jan > > > >> -- >> Jeffrey >> >> >> jan damborsky ??: >> >>> Hi Ginnie, >>> >>> I have tried the image and I was able to install in both >>> 32bit as well as 64bit modes. >>> I have also verified that DNS works correctly in AI >>> environment. >>> >>> Based on this I have closed the bug 4274, which served >>> for tracking issues related to AI nightly images. >>> >>> Thanks ! >>> Jan >>> >>> >>> Virginia Wray wrote: >>> >>> >>>> Hi - >>>> >>>> I've generated test images from today's build.
