Hi Barbara.

Here are my DC manpage comments:

Line 4:
How come there needs to be a distinction between the distro_const
command and the distribution constructor application? To this end, I
would have the NAME section be:

Distribution Constructor - utility for creating distribution images
and media

and replace the first PP in the DESCRIPTION section with the following:

The distro_const command enables uses to create an image, by using a
specified
manifest file as the blueprint for the image.

- - -
Line 26: When mentioning installing the SUNWdistro-const package, also
mention that the system has to be installed with OpenSolaris.
- - -
Line 29: Rather than say "Copy the manifest file..." I would say "Make a
copy of the manifest file..." because the former may leave someone
wondering where to copy the file to.
- - -
Line 33: Please change:
Provide any scripts needed to customize the image (finalizer
scripts) into the
    distribution desired.
to:
Provide any (finalizer) scripts needed to create the custom
distribution from the
    generic image.
- - -
Line 53: I would reword this paragraph to flow more smoothly...
Something like this:

Checkpointing saves time during builds by allowing one to bypass
lengthy steps which have already been done at least once. As an
example, consider that im-pop, the first step which downloads packages,
can take a long time. With checkpointing, this step can be skipped
after the first iteration, by resuming builds from subsequent points to it.
- - -
Line 72, 80, 93, 102: Does "build" need to be in double-quotes?
- - -
Line 90, 100: Please change:
"The step names are listed in the -l option section."
to
"The step names are listed by running the "build -l" subcommand."
- - -
Line 109: Can this "build -l" section be moved to the top of the list of
subcommands, since all of the pause and resume subcommands refer to it?
- - -
line 144+: (between im-pop and slim-im-mod):
    im-mod Image area modifications

line 169: Please switch the -r and -p options, due to a bug which makes
the -r -p order fail.

    Thanks,
    Jack
