Umpf... ~/.bashrc and ~/.kshrc are for interactive shells while
~/.profile and ~/.bash_profile are for login shells.
Therefore:
1. If you want to setup something for a users login (special temp. dir,
print /etc/motd etc.) then use ~/.profile or ~/.bash_profile
2. If you want to set something for each interactive shell (like the
prompt via PS1) then use ~/.kshrc or ~/.bashrc

... but please do not link ~/.bashrc to ~/.bash_login or something like
that... it's an overkill and IMO _not_ what people may want to intend to
do...
