1) Prototype
* Need to finish before June 1st ideally so we can finalize design.
* Joe has been working on Stopper bugs for 2009.06 release, will be
working on his piece starting Monday the 11th.
* Glenn has some of his prototype work done, on schedule to complete
by Friday the 15th EOD.
* Tasks for prototype:
VM Host work - Glenn
- config VM
- boot VM
- monitor VM
- export OVF on VM shutdown
VM Guest work - Joe
- build bootable ISO which performs an automated installation and shuts
down the VM
2) Design discussion
* Is there a VB api we can hook in to in order to manage VB using a
stable interface rather than just calling the CLI commands?
Glenn to investigate.
* Issue with observability/progress reporting of the installation
happening inside the VB Virtual Machine. Currently there is no
observability. Need to define a set of requirements that this
project will have in regards to that. Glenn to investigate.
* Installation 'engine' is going to come from the Bootable AI ISO
work which is going to be handled under Sarah's Grand Unified
Redesign project.
Next Steps:
* Continue implementing prototype
* Glenn to research any possible SDK/API we can hook in to for VBox
* Glenn to define a set of requirements for VM installation observability
* Refine Design outline for further discussion
