The originally proposed four scenarios have been reworked into the
following five. They are also available at

http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/caiman/auto_install/ai_svs_redesign_scenarios.txt

1. An evaluation environment consisting of a few non-production machines
(x86
and SPARC).

Primary feature: A simplified default AI service for both SPARC and x86
         clients.

2. A small, possibly heterogeneous (x86 and SPARC) environment with the AI
server and clients on the same subnet. A specialized (non-default)
software load is to be installed on all clients.

Primary features: A non-default manifest is used for all clients.

3. A small to medium heterogeneous environment, limited to a single subnet.
Most clients will get the same software load installed, but a few will be
installed with different loads including some with specific versions of
OpenSolaris software.

Primary feature: Specialized AI services/manifests for some machines as
                 determined by client attributes.

4. A large heterogeneous environment of hundreds to thousands of server
clients.
The machines are grouped such that each group gets a different software
load.

Primary features: WAN install,
Specialized software loads for multiple large groups

5. A small group within a medium to large company uses a local AI server
for
some of its machines that require specialized software loads, however,
most of
the group's machines continue to receive standardized software loads
from the
company's centralized AI server.

Primary feature: Hierarchical LAN and WAN AI servers.
