Hi All,

Next Tuesday, 8/11(meeting details TBD) we will be having a discussion
on the proposed functional spec for the Caiman unified engine that was
sent on 7/28/09:
http://opensolaris.org/os/project/caiman/CUD/CUE_docs/CUD_func_spec.pdf

I am asking folks who are interested to review this and try to attend
the discussion planned for next Tuesday. I know everyone is very busy,
but I would like to try to get some closure on the unified engine
proposal as soon as possible. If we are off in the weeds on this, I
would prefer to course correct now. We have planned an hour for this
discussion. If we need more time, we will schedule a follow on meeting
to complete the discussion.

Why does it matter that we bring the Caiman Unified Engine proposal and
functional spec to closure? Because, as we are working through the new
projects that are planned, we can at a minimum, create new components as
necessary that will more effectively fit in to the unified engine plan.
And, along the way, it is likely we will need to design and implement
some of the engine as we move forward with our projects and ARC reviews
in support of getting Solaris Next completed.

Thanks for your time and feedback.

sarah
