Ok, but it does work.  It does solve the problem.  Perhaps not
optimally for all, but nothing comes for free :-)  As I said, if this
option doesn't scratch people's itch they are more than welcome to
create one and not wait to see if Sun is going to implement such a
thing.  Using the liveCD as a start in Distribution Constructor, it
shouldn't be too hard to expand the package list to include
redistributable and what not.  Then you've got a liveDVD on physical
media that you can take around and install the whole wad.  Last I heard,
we had no plans to create such a thing but we were encouraging the
community to create it if they wanted it.
