Greetings Caimaniacs, With my push for 817 and 818 moments ago, there are a couple of things you may want to know.
First of all, with the changes for 817 the liveCD now understands how to import and mount any existing zfs pools on the hard drive of the system the liveCD is running on. Those pools are imported and the file systems are mounted under /mnt/zpools. Secondly, if you need to capture iotrace data (because you're spinning a new ISO release) things are much simpler in terms of saving the trace output. As usual you'll need to specify the -B trace=on grub option at boot time. After that, everything is mostly automatic. Once the Gnome desktop starts you'll be asked if you want to save the trace data (providing it exists and is > 0 size). If you confirm that you want to save, you'll get a file chooser dialog where you can navigate to someplace to save the data (perhaps something under /mnt for any ufs or zfs file systems that the liveCD detected or even a usb stick that you might have inserted). The dialog will then save the trace data and remove it from /tmp (thus freeing memory). Cheers, Glenn
