It is a demo thing. We will calculate the size required from the install
media. However, it is important for users to be aware the limiting the
initial size of the install may cause problems later with upgrade.

No, you didn't miss anything. Right now we are not providing for
customization of the slices. We will be moving the ZFS root in the
future which makes this type of customization different so we opted to
not allow that for Dwarf. We will layout the slices for you.

Dwarf is intended to provide a streamlined installation experience for
developers. If you look at the existing Solaris Express, developer
edition, we have removed the ability to select software per package as
well. We are moving forward with that model with Dwarf. As we expand
Caiman's capabilities and replace the existing installer this will
likely change. How, I am not sure since we are trying to go to a
different installation model all together. Sorry, I can't give more
details than that at this time.

No, it isn't currently possible. With any of the Solaris install
choices. But, it is an interesting suggestion. This is something we
should keep in mind to include for more advanced options.
