Hi Darren, My apologies I can't find any record of my response to you so I'm attempting to respond again. Hopefully this one actually gets sent out...

While this is true that we are adding a generic entry it does not affect any user that has an entry in any map found through the +auto_home entry in this file. This is because this generic entry is being added to the end of the auto_home file. > > While the effect is basically the same I strongly believe that modifying > auto_home with a generic entry in the installer is the wrong thing to do. > However I tend to agree with you that we should really only be adding an entry for the actual user that the installer is adding and I have made that change with the updated version of this that will be sent out tomorrow. > Also this type of change to auto_home really should have a PSARC > fast-track filed for it - which I'd be more than happy to sponsor for you. > Since we're only doing this in OpenSolaris doing a PSARC case for this bug seems a bit premature. Also since I've changed this to only add the single entry for the user the installer adds, I don't think we need this right now. It may make sense at a later time to add a generic line and do a PSARC case for that then but not as a part of this bug. Thanks! -evan
