VirtualBox is extremely useful, generally easier for testing than separate boxes since you can skip burning CDs or USB sticks. Migrating to OpenSolaris would be a good idea, since SXCE is ending soon and none of us is running it, either. I'd start with the info on http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/caiman/Developers/ (let us know what info could be added as you work through things) and in particular, the README in the sources which gets into the details of building and such: http://src.opensolaris.org/source/xref/caiman/slim_source/usr/src/README Dave
