I assumed that you have network access to the release
repository. If you do not, then you would need to set up a local
repository from the S11 release repo ISOs, and set your
publisher there. Is this what you meant by "Installed base S11
from local DVD.", or are you just referring to the installation
media here?
booted and admittedly assuming installed S11 from the boot media.
regardless, the network configuration hasn't been altered by

Apologies if this doesn't match the corrected README

Steps leading to add SRU2 iso as publisher
booted from DVD
ok boot cdrom
invoked [1] install solaris
(admittedly I'm assuming it used DVD as install source but
selected automatic network configuration)
after install completes,
invoke 3 shell
Mount sru2 iso as hsfs at /mnt
The SRU is an update. You need to first reboot before you can apply
the packages. The Usage section of the README states:
This repository copy requires
implementation on a system with a minimum OS
level of Oracle Solaris 11 11/11.
That means the system is up and running Solaris 11, not still in the
miniroot shell.
After rebooting, confirm that you have network connectivity. If you
do, then you can proceed. If not, you will have to first either
configure the network or download the fulll repo S11 repo ISO.

The incremental SRU repository ISO is not a complete set of
packages, and cannot stand by itself as a repository to
install from. You either need to add the repository (with
-g) to the existing set of publishers, or add the packages
from the incremental ISO to an existing local repository.
The current README incorrectly stated to use "-G '*' " to
remove the existing publisher. The new revision of the
README correctly leaves out this option.
