The integration of:
   PSARC 2012/074 UEFI/GRUB2/Large Disk Boot (UGLDB) (Install phase II):
   7104502 Install needs to support UEFI & GPT (phase II)
   et al.

and its companion ON integration of:
   PSARC/2012/074 UEFI/GRUB2/Large Disk Boot (UGLDB) (phase II)
   ...
   7153604 UEFI/GRUB2/Large Disk Boot Project (phase II)
   et al.

constitutes a FLAG DAY for all Solaris install image users, install
infrastructure (i.e. AI install) maintainers, all install project developers
and users who use distro_const(1M) to build Solaris ISO and USB install images.

Please ALSO refer to the ON-specific flag day for UGLDB Phase II, which can be
found here:
http://on11update-gate.us.oracle.com/flagdays/pages/20120328181315.html

Required User Action
--------------------
Install infrastructure maintainers who want to provision and manage Solaris
AI images from S11U1 build 14 onward MUST update their system to S11U1 build
13 or later.

Users and install project developers who currently use distro_const(1M) to
build Solaris ISO, USB or pkg(5) AI repo install images MUST ALSO:

- Update the ON components on their build systems to on-nightly March 27th or
  later
- Users who want to update to on-nightly from March 29th must first follow
    the ON UGLDB Phase II flag day referenced above.

- Specify on-nightly as the HIGHEST ranked publisher in their AI manifests.
  - This step is ONLY required until build 14 is released.
  - Sample DC manifest XML IPS software source node:

<source>
<publisher name="on-nightly">
<origin name="http://ipkg.us.oracle.com/internal/solaris11/on/nightly"/>
</publisher>
<publisher name="install-nightly">
<origin name="http://indiana-build.us.oracle.com:10000"/>
</publisher>
<publisher name="solaris">
<origin name="http://ipkg.us.oracle.com/solaris11/dev/"/>
</publisher>
</source>

Summary of changes:
-------------------
- GRUB2 boot loader support

- 64-bit UEFI firmware support

- GPT partitioning & large (>2TiB) disk support

- GPT is now the default partitioning format used on fresh install when the
  system is capable of booting from GPT-partitioned disks and either:
  - The whole disk is selected for installation, or,
  - The selected disk has an existing GPT partition table, or,
  - The selected disk has an unreadable or no disk label.

- Automated Install (AI)
  - Versions of installadm(1M) in builds prior to build 13 do not support
    provisioning and managing Solaris AI ISO (or pkg(5) AI repo) images for
    build 14 and onward. The minimum version of installadm(1M) required is
    that included in build 13.

- Distribution Constructor
- Versions of distro_const(1M) in builds prior to build 13 do not support
    constructing Solaris ISO and USB images for build 14 and onward. The
minimum version of distro_const(1M) required is that included in build 13.

- usbgen / usbcopy utilities
- Versions of these utilities prior to build 13 do not support creating and
    copying Solaris USB images for build 14 and onward. The minimum version
    required for both utilities is that included in build 13.
  - New versions of these utilities can be downloaded from:
https://stbeehive.oracle.com/teamcollab/wiki/GRUB2+and+Large+Disk+Boot:UEFI_USB_BOOT

Support for Solaris 11 FCS / Solaris 11 SRU install infrastructure maintainers
 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- installadm(1M) from UGLDB Phase I will be backported to the SRU gate and
    backpublished to the /release repo so that customers or users running
    S11FCS or S11SRU can provision and manage Solaris 11 Update 1 ISO and
    pkg(5) repo AI images.
- In the meantime, internal installadm(1M) users running S11FCS/S11SRU who want to provision and manage S11U1 build 14 images will need to update to
    build 13, as required above.
