Janie:
The install_log is in /system/violatile and it will not be in /tmp or
/var/tmp.

Sree,
The recommended actions to take were:
Try selecting 3 (Shell) from the menu and inspect:
1. /tmp and /var/tmp for text installer UI logs
2. whole filesystem for coredumps from text installer UI
3. seek for any dead services (svcs -xv), try if fdisk can see the disk devices
on the machine
Please let us know how that goes.

Hi,
After selecting 1 from this menu, it comes right back to this menu. There are
some error messages, but can not capture them. Is there a file I can check for
the errors? How do I get past this error to install s11 image?
1 Install Oracle Solaris
2 Install Additional Drivers
3 Shell
4 Terminal type (currently xterm)
5 Reboot

Hi Janie,
looks like installer text UI crashed. Try selecting 3 (Shell) from the menu and
inspect:
1. /tmp and /var/tmp for text installer UI logs
2. whole filesystem for coredumps from text installer UI
3. seek for any dead services (svcs -xv), try if fdisk can see the disk devices
on the machine
Text installer UI logs should contain more information about the problem cause.

Hello Caiman Team,
I created text iso images based on s11u1b12 that give this issue during

can not install this image. It fails after:
Welcom to the Oracle Solaris installation menu

2. Install Additional Drivers
3. Shell
4. Terminal type
5. Reboot

Selecting 1, brings you back to the same menu.
Have you encountered this issue before?
I did not see a problem in the build logs, could you please check them at:

Hi Sree,
I am not sure why I don't see an issue in the build logs. I created a
second debug image, can you try this? If that fails in the same
manner, I will try to have the install tool folks help look at the
log files to see if they can pinpoint the issue.
/ws/m4-on/builds/S11/m4-t5-on11_017.u1b12/images/text-install/m4-t5-on11-17.text.debug2.iso
Still seeing same failure.
