There is no crash. It is just freezing the dock and chromium. I don't know for other web-browser. This not a big bug, but it is just making the user think that the dock crashed, so he will either kill cairo-dock, or reboot.

Then after a while (depending on the app), the app is installed and Chromium and the dock work fine. When it is freezing, it really seems like a crash.
