Use bindNode in the user model to return it's group, there is information 
about "group only acl" in the cake book.

I use roles instead of groups, so in my case it looks like:

function bindNode($user) {
          return array('model' => 'Role', 'foreign_key' => 
$user['User']['role_id']);
         }
