Just set your $recursive to 2, to load two levels of associations
(first level is the Show's Artists, second level is those Artists'
assocations, including their Shows).
$this->Show->recursive = 2;
$show_details = $this->Show->read(null, $your_show_id);
This $show_details will have $show_details[ 'Show' ][ 'Artist' ][ {n}
][ 'Show' ][ {n} ].
