We use cake on our website and we get about a million hits a day. I haven't noticed any issue with performance and if there are any issues, its usually on the server end. I'm hoping it continues to perform well as traffic grows. I'm sure it won't be a problem since the Mozilla addons page probably gets way more hits than we do.
