Hi Nate, Ok - I discovered what I was doing. I was setting $this->Auth->fields['password'] = 'passwd'; in my app_controller. I needed to define it in my users_controller.
Now that's working I'm still getting the MD5 problem - Auth seems to be using plain text passwords, as it doesn't recognise the password.
