Im building a CMS for an organization helping children in Ghana. The webpage will contain two types of pages: Dynamic and static. The static pages will be "light html" database based, and edited in a wysiwyg editor by people who dosent have any html knowledge (FCKEditor will probably be used for this). The Dynamic pages will be sites such as file uploading and a simple blog system but i want this pages to exist as views in the cake structure. The whole site will host a lot of content, and due to that all this content will be split into "sections", and each section has a submenu with pages. The problem is that these pages will be both dynamic and static pages. I would very much like the url to be like this: domain.com/section/ page but to do this I guess i need to manually create every section as controller, where the functions used by the dynamic pages will be (I can live with that!). So I figure I need some kind of content controller (or modify the existing pages controller) which examines the URI, locates the type of content (static or dynamic) and, if static, echoes out the data, or render/redirect to the right view, if it is a dynamic page.
I have never made a CMS before, so I'm not sure this is the proper way doing it (ANY suggestions are very welcome) and I'm a fairly new cake baker, which is why I write you all for assistance. I have been browsing CakePHP projects for solution code (Lumad, webrocket etc..) but all of them seems only to host static content, and furthermore they don't operate with "sections". Is this even possible, and is it the proper way of doing it? Are there already a similar project I just haven't found? This a all my own thoughts, and to be honest I'm pretty confused at the moment. I will appreciate any kind of feedback. Thank you.
