Hi, Try this: 1) define an alias to localhost into /etc/hosts file, e.g. dev-cake
2) define a virtual host into <apache-dir>/conf/extra/httpd- vhosts.conf <VirtualHost *:80> ServerAdmin [EMAIL PROTECTED] DocumentRoot /home/cakephp/sandbox/ ServerName dev-cake ServerAlias dev-cake <Directory /home/cakephp/sandbox/ AllowOverride all </Directory> </VirtualHost> You should have cake installed under DocumentRoot /home/cakephp/ sandbox/, of course. 3) restart apache 4) point to http://dev-cake Hope this helps.
